Third Party Import: General

Understanding Third-Party Data Uploads in Marketing

In today’s interconnected business landscape, marketing teams often rely on third-party data to enhance their campaigns, personalize experiences, and drive growth. However, handling this data responsibly is crucial to maintain compliance with regulations, protect individuals’ privacy and guarantee data quality standards.

What Is Third-Party Data?

Third-party data refers to information collected or obtained from external sources outside of SD Worx. These sources can include vendors, partners, or other businesses. In the context of marketing automation, third-party data typically includes details about prospects that are not directly collected by us.

Why Use Third-Party Data?

  1. Enrichment: Third-party data enriches your new/existing prospect profiles by providing additional insights. For example, it can include demographic information, touchpoint at events or specific interests.
  2. Lead Generation: marketers leverage third-party data to create audience segments and initiate conversations with individuals or companies.
  3. Personalization: Personalized marketing relies on relevant data. Third-party data can help you too deliver personalized content, recommendations, and product suggestions to individual customers.

Our Approach to Third-Party Data

At our marketing automation team, we handle third-party data with utmost care and transparency. Here are our key principles:

  1. External Vendors Only: We exclusively work with data from external vendors who comply with privacy regulations. This ensures that the data we use is obtained legally and ethically.
  2. Data Security: We prioritize data security by partnering with reputable vendors who implement robust security measures. Encryption, access controls, and contractual guarantees protect the entrusted information.
  3. Compliance: Our team stays informed about evolving regulations such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). We ensure that any third-party data we handle aligns with these requirements.
  4. Data Consent: We do not import or handle data acquired without individuals’ consent to be processed. This is NOT equal to a Marketing communication consent.
  5. Marketing communication consent (optional): Vendors sometimes add the extra consent that the contacts can be utilized by the third-party (us) to send out marketing communication. We will always need to verify this via contract/statement/example form/etc. to be assured this is the case.

Remember, responsible third-party data handling is essential for maintaining trust with contacts and safeguarding their privacy. By adhering to these practices, we can leverage external data effectively while respecting individuals’ rights.

We do not handle exclusive customer lists. Such information should be contained within our Salesforce CRM. While it's inevitable that customers will appear on external third-party lists, they should not constitute the majority.
