Get user feedback on your websites/landing pages via Hotjar

Google Analytics can give you a lof of quantitative data about your website visitors, but that data doesn't always tell you the whole story. Hotjar can give you the extra insights about the 'Why?'.

Hotjar has different interesting functionalities to dig deeper into user behaviour on your websites or landing pages.

Via Hotjar you can set up:

  • Feedback polls
  • Incoming feedback

Via Hotjar, you can also create Heatmaps and watch User recordings, but at SD Worx, we now use Microsoft Clarity for this. More information about that in this article.

How does it work ?

The Hotjar code is installed on all our public websites and Pardot pages so no code changes are required to make it work, so you can set-up stuff in minutes just using the configuration in Hotjar.

If you access Hotjar (contact the Digital Marketing Excellence team for a user), you can navigate to the website you want to work with in the top left corner.

Once you have selected the right website, you can access or create new stuff.

Make sure to specify the pages (URL's) where a Hotjar functionality should be triggered. Especially for polls and feedback it is important to target the right URL's to avoid polls being showed on all pages.

Functionalities

Feedback Polls

Understand the reasons behind behavior – Improving the performance and experience of your website starts with understanding what your visitors want and what's preventing them from achieving it. Target questions to specific visitors anywhere on your web and mobile site.

Example : Ask what visitors are looking for on a specific page and if they were able to find it. Need inspiration for feedback questions ? Visit this article with + 70 questions.
