Congratulations 🎉🎉!
You are at the final step of the training. How we send out our emails. The most crucial and sensitive part of the training, so be careful and follow our advice/steps.
Setup your email header information
Your email header information is what people perceive in their inboxes before they open the email. It is crucial to never change the sender's address. Only the name and the reply address are free to be chosen.
In "From" you can choose who your email is sent from.
- The "Sender" > "Name" is the name that recipients will see
- The "Sender" > "Email" must always stay sdworx@mail.sdworx.com
- The "Custom Reply-To Address" is the email address replies from recipients will go to
More information can be found: Email sender information Pardot.
If you haven't filled in your "Subject" in the editor you can still fill it in here.
Define your audience
We always start with adding the Suppression lists first (Don't Send To). Due to GDPR, we always need to abide by the preferences that have been given (or not given) by the contacts. We cannot email contacts that did not give their consent to us.
For more information: GDPR for Marketing - Consent
It is mandatory to add two specific suppression lists to each email:
- Suppression list for the related preference in the context of the email: [COUNTRY] Suppression list [Preference] LIST
- Suppression list for Marketing pressure: [COUNTRY] Marketing Pressure LIST
- Commercial
- Event (& Webinars)
- Newsletter
- Survey
Each country can have their specific preferences outside of the 4 default.
Next, we add the desired lists to the Lists (Send to) section of the audiences we wish to target.
We also cover all the possiblities of defining your audience here: Setting the recipients for sending emails in Pardot.
On the right-hand side. Pardot will automatically calculate the number of mailable contacts to which the email will be sent to. Keep an eye on this number if this changes drastically. It will indicate a problem. Contact Chandni Dahnoo (chandni.danhoo@sdworx.com) or me (Matthew.smet01@sdworx.com)
