Introduction to Zapier

What is Zapier?
Zapier is an online platform and a no-code automation tool that helps our SD Worx colleagues to automate their workflows or transfer data by connecting certain apps and services. Below are some common applications which can be connected to Zapier:

Common Zapier connection for SD Worx Campaigns
- LinkedIn Ads ⇨ Zapier ⇨ Pardot ⇨ Salesforce
- Facebook Ads ⇨ Zapier ⇨ Pardot ⇨ Salesforce
- JotForm ⇨ Zapier ⇨ Pardot ⇨ Salesforce
- Google Ads ⇨ Zapier ⇨ Pardot ⇨ Salesforce
Considerations when using Zapier:
Points | Considerations |
No direct connection to Salesforce | Zapier cannot be connected / automatically sync to Salesforce CRM. |
Workflow testing | This step is very crucial. Test your workflow thoroughly before deploying it to make sure everything is working as expected. This will help you avoid errors and data loss. |
Folder structure | Each Zapier needs to be in the right country folder. Read this documentation to know more about folder structure. |
Naming convention (ZAP) | A good naming convention should contain <country code> <campaign code> <description> <language code> Example: BE 23WFM001 WFM LinkedIn Lead Gen Ads NL |
Do we need a child campaign? | Always link your ZAP to a Salesforce child campaign. |
Ready made Templates | There are some predefined templates which you can utilise. |
GoToWebinar connection | GoToWebinar tool can be connected directly to Pardot. It is not required to parse through Zapier to connect GoToWebinar to Pardot / Salesforce unless you want to promote the webinar on a different platform than Pardot. For example, Linkedin Lead gen forms. |
Transfer process | Zapier only transfers leads to Pardot. It doesn't sync automatically to Salesforce. |
